GUNDA provided plans, specifications and cost estimates for Cypress North Houston Road at Raven South to widen it for the addition of a left turn lane and traffic signal at the intersection.
The intersection of Cypress North Houston and Raven South services 20,000 vehicles per day along Cypress North Houston, and directly service’s approximately 1,500 vehicles per day at the intersection. A previously completed signal warrant study indicated that this location needed the addition of a dedicated left-hand turn.
The scope of work included roadway widening, signal design, storm drainage design considerations, grading, sidewalks, traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, traffic control plans, the development of a storm water pollution prevention plan and a storm water quality management plan, bidding and construction phase services. GUNDA also provided bi-weekly engineering construction services which consisted of on site visits to inspect construction efforts for quality of work and provide answers to contractor questions.
